Historic Win for Al-Kholood in the Saudi Pro League

Al-Kholood and Al-Orouba both secured their first victories of the season on Thursday, kicking off the fourth round of the Saudi Pro League. Al-Kholood triumphed over hosts Al-Wehda, while Al-Orouba defeated Al-Fateh.

In the first match, Al-Kholood’s Spanish forward Álex Collado netted the decisive goal in the 60th minute.

Al-Wehda’s situation worsened when defender Bandar Darwish Ahmed was sent off with a second yellow card, reducing them to 10 men.

This victory lifted Al-Kholood to four points and moved them up to 12th place in the standings. Meanwhile, Al-Wehda, after suffering two consecutive defeats following a draw and a win, dropped to the 13th place.

Al-Kholood achieved an exceptional feat by being promoted to the Saudi Pro League for the first time at the end of last season, finishing third in the “Yellow League” behind Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Orouba.

In the second match, another Spanish player, Cristian Tello, accidently scored an own goal in the 50th minute, giving Al-Orouba a 1-0 victory over Al-Fateh. This result raised Al-Orouba’s tally to four points, climbing them to 11th place, while Al-Fateh remained on three points, dropping to 15th.

Elsewhere, Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Okhdood battled to a goalless draw.

Both teams ended the match with 10 men after Al-Qadisiyah’s Mexican forward Julián Quiñones was sent off in the 42nd minute, followed by Al-Okhdood’s Jamaican defender Damion Lowe receiving a red card in stoppage time.

Al-Qadisiyah now sits in fourth place with seven points, while Al-Okhdood earned their first point of the season, temporarily moving off the bottom of the table ahead of Al-Fayha (0 points) and Al-Khaleej (3 points), whose match is still pending.
