Champions First to Clinch NBA Playoff Spot

Defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder continued their impressive form, becoming the first team to secure a place in the NBA playoffs after a 113–108 win over the Orlando Magic.

Canadian star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was once again the standout performer, delivering a brilliant display with 40 points to lead his team to an important victory. Chet Holmgren added 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Belgian guard Ajay Mitchell contributed 16 points.

For the losing side, young French player Maxime Raynaud delivered the best performance of his career with 32 points and 9 rebounds, taking advantage of the increased opportunities within a struggling team.

The game also featured a notable individual milestone for veteran Russell Westbrook, who moved up to fifth place on the NBA’s all-time regular-season assists list, surpassing Canadian legend Steve Nash. The list is topped by iconic names such as John Stockton, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, and LeBron James.

In other games, Julius Randle led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 116–104 win over the Phoenix Suns with 32 points, while the Detroit Pistons maintained their lead in the Eastern Conference with a 130–117 victory over the Washington Wizards, powered by 36 points from Jalen Duren, despite Cade Cunningham leaving early due to injury.

The New York Knicks also maintained their strong position with a convincing 136–110 win over the Indiana Pacers, as Josh Hart starred with 33 points alongside key contributions from OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns, compounding Indiana’s struggles in what has been a disappointing season at the bottom of the standings.
