Saudi Player Saud Abdel Hamid Poised for Move to Roma

Saudi international right-back Saud Abdel Hamid is on the brink of a major career move, transitioning from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal to Italian giants Roma.

Reports from multiple European media outlets confirm that the transfer of Saud Abdel Hamid to the Serie A club is imminent. The upcoming Saudi Super Cup final against Al-Nassr next Saturday might be his final appearance for Al-Hilal.

At 25 years old, Saud is eager to advance his career on the European stage, having received an official offer from Roma. He has been a key figure in Jorge Jesus’s starting XI at Al-Hilal, proving his value to the team.

Abdel Hamid has recently become a hot topic following Roma’s interest. According to Transfermarkt, his market value surged by €1.2 million ($1.32 million) from December 2023 to June 2024, rising from €2.8 million ($3.07 million) to €4 million ($4.39 million).

This increase places him second among the highest-valued Saudi players, trailing only Firas Al-Buraikan, the striker for Al-Ahli.

The dynamic right-back set a world record last season by featuring in a record 67 matches across both Al-Hilal and the Saudi national team. His current contract with Al-Hilal is set to expire at the end of the next season, following a two-year stint that began in January 2022 when he joined from Al-Ittihad Jeddah.
