After Nacho… Aubameyang is Set to Join Saudi Club Al-Qadisiyah

Al-Qadisiyah once again confirmed their ambition in the Saudi Football League through significant signings. After acquiring Real Madrid’s captain, the European champion with his national team, center back Nacho Fernandez, the club is close to securing an important offensive player.

According to the French website Foot Mercato, Al-Qadisiyah administration has agreed with Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, currently with French team Marseille, to represent the team for two seasons.

The French website explained that negotiations are focused on reaching an agreement with Marseille’s management. The deal is expected to be settled within the next few hours. Marseille is looking to sell Aubameyang’s contract to reduce player salary costs and finance new signings. Aubameyang, who spent one season with Marseille, is seeking a move from his side.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, known for his expertise in the player and coach transfer market, wrote on his official account on the “X” platform: “The agreement between Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Al-Qadisiyah will extend until June 2026. The salary has also been approved. Al-Qadisiyah are waiting for final approval from Marseille concerning the offer they presented to complete his transfer to Saudi Arabia.”

Aubameyang will join a large group of international stars in the Saudi League. He moved to the French South team in the summer of 2023, signing a contract until June 30, 2026. He participated in 51 matches in all competitions, scoring 30 goals and making 11 decisive assists.

The Gabonese striker previously won the English Premier League top scorer award with Arsenal at the end of the 2018-2019 season, scoring 21 goals, equally with Liverpool’s player Mohamed Salah and former Liverpool striker Sadio Mane, who currently plays for Al-Nassr.

Aubameyang also played for French clubs Saint-Etienne and Lille, German club Borussia Dortmund, and Spanish club Barcelona.

The Al-Qadisiyah administration had set Aubameyang as their primary target, with Youssef En-Nesyri, the Seville striker, as a secondary option.

Earlier reports from Saudi Al-Riyadiya newspaper, citing their own sources, mentioned that Al-Shabab club management sought to contract with Aubameyang last May. However, negotiations between the two parties did not reach a successful end.
