Maguire Reflects on “Strangest Game” in His Career After Dramatic Europa League Victory

Manchester United’s Harry Maguire has described their dramatic 5-4 win over Lyon as the “strangest” game he has ever played in, following a wild 120 minutes of football that saw both teams exchange goals in a stunning finale.

Maguire, who scored the decisive second goal in extra time to secure a 7-6 aggregate win, called the game one of the most emotional and chaotic moments of his career. The match had it all: from United’s initial dominance, taking a 2-0 lead, to Lyon’s unexpected fightback, scoring four unanswered goals.
