Marco Asensio is in no rush to finalize a move to Turkey, as the Paris Saint-Germain outcast is reportedly holding out for potential offers from either the Premier League or La Liga before making a final decision on Fenerbahce’s proposal. Although the Turkish powerhouse, now managed by José Mourinho, has made its interest clear and even initiated talks with PSG, Asensio is not yet ready to commit.

According to reports from Turkish media, the 28-year-old attacker is seeking a lucrative net salary of up to €15 million, while PSG have set an asking price in the region of €10 million. These financial demands could limit the number of realistic suitors, but Asensio’s proven quality still draws significant interest.

The Spanish international had a turbulent season at PSG under Luis Enrique, eventually falling out of the rotation before being loaned to Aston Villa in February. In England, he reignited his form with eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions, proving he still has plenty to offer at the highest level. His contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2026, but the club is keen to offload him as part of a squad rebuild.

Fenerbahce view Asensio as a marquee signing that could tip the balance in their bid to dethrone domestic rivals Galatasaray, who recently secured Leroy Sané in a headline-grabbing transfer. Mourinho, who’s embarking on his first season in Turkish football, sees Asensio as a key creative force for his new project in Istanbul.

The final decision now hinges on whether a compelling offer arrives from England or Spain. Should no such bid materialize, Fenerbahce remains in pole position to secure the services of the former Real Madrid star.
