Al-Nassr continued their impressive run in the Saudi Pro League, strengthening their grip on top spot after securing a valuable 1-0 victory over hosts Al-Ettifaq in Matchday 29.

This time, the win was sealed by French winger Kingsley Coman, who played the hero and guided his team to three crucial points, bringing them closer to the title. Al-Nassr raised their tally to 76 points, extending the gap to eight points over their closest challengers Al-Hilal, who still have a game in hand that could add further intrigue to the title race.

Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq remained on 42 points in seventh place after failing to capitalize on the chances that came their way during the match.

Key moments of the match

From the opening minutes, Al-Nassr imposed their attacking style and looked determined to settle the contest early. Coman was the first to threaten with a powerful strike that went just wide of the post, before Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo tested the goal with a similar effort that also missed the target.

The pressure continued, with Senegalese forward Sadio Mané coming close to opening the scoring, only for the defense to intervene at the last moment.

Al-Ettifaq, for their part, relied on counter-attacks and nearly found a breakthrough, particularly through French striker Moussa Dembélé, who squandered several clear chances, including one that went over the bar and another just wide of the post in a one-on-one situation.

The decisive moment came in the 31st minute, when Ronaldo unleashed a powerful shot that was saved by Slovak goalkeeper Marek Rodák, but the rebound fell kindly to Coman. The Frenchman reacted quickly, rounded the goalkeeper, and slotted the ball into an empty net to score the only goal of the match.

Despite continued efforts from both sides, Al-Nassr remained the more dangerous team, creating multiple chances to extend their lead through João Félix and Ronaldo, while Rodák produced several fine saves to keep his side in the game. At the other end, Brazilian goalkeeper Bento also played a key role in preserving the lead with important saves in the second half.

In the closing stages, the tempo remained high with chances at both ends, but the score line stayed unchanged. Al-Ettifaq’s task became even more difficult after Scottish defender Jack Hendry was sent off in stoppage time, as Al-Nassr secured a deserved victory to reinforce their position at the top and continue their confident march toward the title.
