Kyle Walker-Peters Agrees West Ham Deal After Southampton Exit

West Ham United have reached an agreement on personal terms with Kyle Walker-Peters, securing the services of the versatile full-back on a free transfer following his departure from Southampton. The 28-year-old England international left the Saints after the expiration of his contract, closing the chapter on a five-year spell at St Mary’s.

Initially on the brink of signing with Turkish giants Besiktas under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Walker-Peters postponed his medical amid renewed Premier League interest. That delay has proven decisive, with West Ham stepping in to secure a deal.

Walker-Peters earned two caps for England and was a consistent figure at Southampton, racking up 202 appearances and six goals. His attacking prowess from deep and adaptability on either flank made him a critical component in Southampton’s tactical setup, especially during their promotion-winning 2023–24 campaign where he featured in 43 matches. In the following season, he maintained a strong presence with 35 top-flight appearances, contributing two assists.

Having begun his career at Tottenham Hotspur, Walker-Peters joined Southampton on loan in January 2020 before making the move permanent later that year. His consistent performances have now earned him a return to Premier League football, this time in East London.

West Ham, who ended last season 14th in the Premier League, are reshaping their squad under new leadership. They have already bolstered their defense by signing Senegalese talent El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague for £19 million and by making Jean-Clair Todibo’s loan from Nice a permanent acquisition.
