End of the Season for Los Angeles Clippers Star

Los Angeles Clippers center Bradley Beal will undergo surgery to repair a fractured hip, ruling him out for the remainwder of the NBA season.

Beal exited the Clippers’ game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday due to hip pain. The 32-year-old joined Los Angeles last July after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Phoenix, signing a two-year, $11 million deal. However, injuries have plagued his campaign — he has featured in only six games this season, missing others due to left knee and lower back issues.

The setback is another major blow for the Clippers, who have endured a rough start to the campaign with a 3–8 record. They are already without Kawhi Leonard, sidelined again by a recurring ankle sprain.

In their latest outing, the Clippers fell 130–116 to the Denver Nuggets, led by a sensational Nikola Jokić, who erupted for 55 points, along with 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The Serbian star shot an incredible 18-of-23 from the field, including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc, powering Denver to their sixth consecutive win.

Jokić’s total matched the highest single-game scoring mark of the season, previously set by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who also scored 55 for the Oklahoma City Thunder in a double-overtime win over the Indiana Pacers in October.

Elsewhere, Stephen Curry continued his red-hot form, dropping 46 points to lead the Golden State Warriors past the San Antonio Spurs 125–120. Curry scored 31 of those in the second half, snapping San Antonio’s unbeaten home run and ending their three-game winning streak — despite triple-doubles from rising stars Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle.

Wembanyama finished with 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Castle added 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers were routed 121–92 by the Oklahoma City Thunder, as Gilgeous-Alexander impressed again with 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists. The Thunder built a 37-point lead at one stage, allowing their starters to rest for most of the fourth quarter.

In contrast, Luka Dončić managed 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists for the Lakers, whose run of six wins in seven games came to a sudden halt. The team remains without LeBron James, still sidelined through injury.

With this result, Oklahoma City improved to an NBA-best 12–1 record, further cementing their dominance early in the season.
