Tottenham Eye Eberechi Eze as Potential Addition Amid Injury Crisis

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking into a move for Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze as they seek to strengthen their attacking options following a major setback. With James Maddison facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, manager Thomas Frank is eager to bolster his attacking ranks.

Eze, who enjoyed a standout season for Palace, netting 14 goals in all competitions, was instrumental in his team’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final. The 27-year-old’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with his debut for England in 2023 further cementing his reputation. Having earned 11 caps for the national team, including three appearances at Euro 2024, Eze is a player on the rise in English football.

While Tottenham has also been linked with Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City, it is clear that Eze is emerging as a priority target. The club has yet to confirm whether they will pursue both Savinho and Eze simultaneously, but the prospect of adding both could give Tottenham a significant attacking boost.

Arsenal, too, have expressed interest in Eze, though they are currently focused on moving out players, with Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson, and Fabio Vieira among those potentially departing. Tottenham’s continued interest in Eze may prompt Arsenal to accelerate their pursuit of the England international.

Eze’s transfer to Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 for £19.5m was a landmark deal, and his impressive tally of 40 goals in 168 appearances shows his growing importance. With his contract at Selhurst Park running until the summer of 2027, Crystal Palace will be in a strong position should they decide to sell.
