Al-Ahly Club Signs Spanish Top Scorer

Qatar’s Al-Ahly Club has announced the signing of Spanish player Eric Exposito, who will join them on a three-season contract.

In an official statement, Al-Ahly Club said: “The Spanish player Eric Exposito signed the contract in the presence of Mr. Arif Abdul Rahman Al Abdullah, the general manager of the club, and Mr. Abdul Rahman Muhammad, the team manager.”

Exposito, 28, is known for his skills as a center forward. He previously played in the Spanish League with Las Palmas before moving to the Polish club Śląsk Wrocław, where he participated in the European League and the European Football Conference League last season (2023-2024). His move to Al-Ahly Club aligns with the team’s technical vision to strengthen their squad before the start of the 2024-2025 season.

The new Spanish player is set to join the team’s current training sessions in preparation for next season under the supervision of coach Igor Peskan.

Al-Ahly aims to improve on last season’s performance, where they finished in tenth place in the Qatari League standings with 23 points.

With the addition of Exposito, the Qatari League has gained another Spanish scorer. Al-Gharafa Club recently announced their signing of international striker Joselu, a former Real Madrid player, just a week ago.

Joselu, 34, began his career with the Real Madrid Academy before leaving the team in 2012 to pursue various opportunities in Germany and England. He returned to the Spanish League giants last season after an impressive spell with Espanyol, despite their relegation to the second tier in Spain.

During the 2023-2024 season, Joselu played 49 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 17 goals and providing 3 assists. He helped the team win three titles: the Champions League, the Spanish League, and the Spanish Super Cup.
