Europe is waiting for France, while the Netherlands is in danger

France is looking for an early qualification to the 2024 European Cup finals in football when they visit the stubborn Netherlands team. The French want to repeat their significant result in the first leg when they won 4-0.

The world champion runner-up made a great start in the qualifiers, collecting the full points in five matches. They won five consecutive games, scoring 11 goals without conceding a single goal.

France will be guaranteed one of the two direct qualification tickets for Group B if they win or draw and if Greece simultaneously loses when they visit the Irish team.

The champion and runner-up of each of the ten groups qualify for the finals, in addition to Germany, who is hosting the tournament and three teams qualifying through the European Nations League playoff.

Greece and the Netherlands each have nine points, knowing that the latter played one less match, while Ireland (3 points) will lose the hope of finishing in the first two places if they lose or draw and if the Netherlands win their game. Gibraltar, at the bottom of the standings without any points, cannot finish in the first two places.

On the other hand, the Netherlands, which achieved three consecutive victories after their humiliating opening match they lost to France, suffers from the absence of their players, Sven Botman, Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo.

The Dutch may undoubtedly suffer even if they are playing at home, as they failed to achieve victory in the last three matches in which they faced one of the teams ranked among the top 50 in the world.

On the other hand, the task is not difficult for the “Roosters”, as they have a scary offence that allowed them to score in the last ten matches at a time when the Netherlands is suffering defensively; they conceded eight goals in the four matches they played in these qualifiers.

Indeed, the Netherlands is in danger, especially in light of the individual brilliance of the French strikers. Olivier Giroud, for example, has seven goalscoring contributions in the six matches he started with Milan this season. Antoine Griezmann also scored four goals in eight matches as a starter for Atletico Madrid.
