Liverpool are facing a serious challenge during their visit to London

Two of the four top teams who didn’t lose any game so far, are facing each other this week. A fierce game is expected between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Liverpool achieved a very good start in the new season contrary to expectations, since the “Reds” won five out of six games. However, this week they are ahead of their first real challenge in London. Their opponent is back to compete after the departure of their star Harry Kane, winning four matches to stand in the “Top Four”.

Tottenham’s recent draw with Arsenal, who are in top form, has many implications because it extended the London team’s clean streak to seven matches without a loss in the Premier League, during which they scored at least two goals in those games.

Led by South Korean star Heung-Min Son, who has scored five goals so far, the game must be more difficult than ever for the perilous Liverpool. The “Reds” are in top form as well, having scored at least three goals in their last three matches in the league. Those goals were backed by the player who achieved the most remarkable chances in the tournament, Egyptian “Pharaoh” Mohamed Salah, who also scored three goals.

Historically, Liverpool have faced Tottenham 181 times since their first match in 1909 (Tottenham won 1-0).

Liverpool’s results were very good against Tottenham in the recent period, as German coach Jurgen Klopp’s team has not lost at all against the “Spurs” since that disastrous 1-4 defeat in 2017, winning nine out of 12 matches since then – including, of course, the 2019 Champions League Final.

Last season, Liverpool beat Tottenham both back and forth, achieving a 2-1 victory at Tottenham Stadium in November. The match at Anfield stadium is the most memorable, as Portuguese player Diogo Jota scored the winning goal in the extra time to win the game for his team with a 4-3 score.
