Meanwhile, Malian rising star Malik Yalquih, signed from Swedish club IFK Göteborg, made his full debut last week in the English League Cup group stage against Crawley. His decisive penalty kick secured Brighton’s progression after a 2-2 draw in regular time.
In short, while it won’t be easy for Hürzeler to replicate the success achieved under his predecessor, Italian Roberto De Zerbi, during the 2022-2023 season, one thing is clear: Brighton will be a tough opponent for any team in the Premier League this season.
