Australia Secures Semi-Final Spot After Match Against Afghanistan is Abandoned

Australia has officially qualified for the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-finals after their match against Afghanistan in Lahore was abandoned due to heavy rain. Afghanistan posted a competitive total, thanks to solid performances from Sediqullah Atal and Azmatullah Omarzai, but Australia started their chase aggressively, with Travis Head leading the charge.

Just as they looked set to push forward, the rain intervened, rendering the field unplayable and confirming Australia’s progression.

Afghanistan’s chances of qualification are now extremely slim, relying on a massive England victory in the upcoming match. Meanwhile, Australia awaits the final group standings to determine their position.
